IBEX-35 Evolution (Java Applet)

If you need to publish data and present them in graphic form, put some zip into your web site, or create WAP pages, Anglatècnic has the know-how to do it. We tender advice on what is required and we build the application that best meets your needs.

Internet programming provides a wide range of possibilities. The main ones are:

  • Creating sophisticated, user-friendly applications that are interactive, feature attractive graphics and animations and that provide "sticky" sites.
  • Dynamic alteration of page parameters (text, images, colours, fonts, etc.).
  • Creating forms to execute commands and to gather all kinds of data.
  • Validating form data.
  • Creating interactive banners.
  • Presenting data stored in a database or folder, ensuring that page design and data are independent of each other.

Some of the technologies we have used:

  • Javascript: Scripts embedded in the HTML code and which are interpreted by the browser. These scripts provide control over page parameters such as text, image, colours, fonts. Java scripts are particularly suitable for validating form data or for communicating with Java Applets.
Developments: Anglatècnic validates formula data using Java scripts.
  • Java Applets: Browser-executed applications executing instructions programmed in Java. These instructions allow access to files, databases, the creation of graphics and animation and a whole range of other possibilities offered by this powerful object-oriented language.
Developments: Anglatècnic has created interactive banners, dynamic graphics, programmes within web pages, etc.
  • Flash: Among other things, Flash technology allows one to: create interactive web pages; insert animations; access information stored in XML files; and exchange data with servers using XML. This means Flash can be used to create sophisticated applications with attractive, user-friendly interfaces.
Developments: Anglatècnic has used this technology to present exercises for interactive courses on the Internet.
  • CGI: Programmes developed in any programming language to yield dynamic web pages. This requires installation in the web page server and, among other things, allows counters to be placed on web pages and the presentation of information stored in a database or file. It works with the vast majority of Internet providers.
Developments: Anglatècnic has used CGI to present job offers, to create an online shop, etc.
  • PHP: Script language embedded in HTML pages. It allows the page design to be separate from the programming. That means if one needs to change the format of the web site, the PHP will continue to work as before. This is particularly useful when working with a database whose data we wish to display.
Desenvolupaments: Anglatècnic sets up virtual offices, virtual news rooms, etc..
  • PHP Libraries: PHP programming language can draw on libraries - a feature that facilitates development work.
Developments: Anglatècnic dynamically generates images of teletext pages that are mapped to ensure users can jump from one page to the next with just a mouse click.
  • XML and XSL: Standard format for exchanging data. XML allows one to structure data easily and create HTML pages. XSL pages allow presentation of the information stored in XML in the form required - e.g. HTML, text, wml (WAP), etc. This ensures that page design is completely independent of the data to be published.
Developments: Anglatècnic has used this technology to publish data in Private Label, for example, weather data on various web sites.
